STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis program defeated Bryant University, 6-1, at home on Wednesday afternoon. Connecticut swept the doubles point and won the top-three singles points.
"The team came out strong in doubles today, which was great to see," said Director of Tennis Glenn Marshall. "After we clinched the doubles point, we took that momentum and won the first set in five of our six singles matches. Maxie Weinberg lost the first set playing a bit inconsistent, but she rallied to clinch a strong second set and the tiebreaker."
The Huskies will play Stony Brook and Army this coming weekend at West Point, N.Y. in matches that were rescheduled following the snow storm two weeks ago.
UConn will face Stony Brook on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Huskies will then face the hosts Army at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
