EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis team fell to Massachusetts 6-1 on Tuesday night at the East Hartford Racquet Club.

Alexa Gregory and Abby McKeon led the Huskies on the afternoon as they defeated Massachusett's Julia Comas and Candynce Boney 8-3.

In other doubles' action, Emily Herb and Jennifer Learmonth fell to Yuliana Motyl and Chantal Swiszcz 9-8 (4). In No. 3 doubles, Lauren Wilmarth and Lucy Nutting dropped a 9-8 (6) match to UMass' Jessica Pdlofsky and Kaitlyn Carpenter.

In singles play, Massachusetts won five of the six matches. Learmonth fell to Motyl 6-3, 7-5 (9) in No. 1 singles, while Herb dropped a pair of 6-1 sets to Comas in No. 2 singles.

Gregory won the lone singles' match for the Huskies 6-4, 6-3 over Boney.

Podlofsky defeated Wilmarth 6-2, 6-1, while Carpenter defeated McKeon 6-0, 6-2.

In No. 6 singles, Swiszcz came from behind to defeat Nutting 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

UConn returns to action on Monday, March 7 against Bryant as part of the Huskies' spring break trip in Puerto Rico.
