CINCINNATI, Ohio - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team opened with a pair of BIG EAST losses after suffering a 4-3 loss at Cincinnati on Sunday. Women's tennis trailed early after losing the doubles point before making a comeback attempt with solid wins in singles play.

Senior Alli Campitiello (Staten Island, N.Y.) grinded out a three-set win at No. 2 singles over Safiyya Ismail. Ismail evened things up with a second-set victory before Campitiello claimed the win.

Wilmarth surpassed the Bearcats' Elise Woulfe 6-3, 6-2 in the first conference match of her collegiate career. McKeon won a 6-1, 6-2 over Abby Mayo from the No. 6 spot.

In first singles, senior Kelley LoRusso (Shoreham, N.Y.) was on the bitter end of a three-set decision while sophomore Alexa Gregory (State College, Pa.) suffered a similar fate in fifth-singles.

Sophomore Emily Herb (Cherry Hill, N.J.) was unable to get past Cincinnati's Lindsey Longeran at No. 3 singles.
