Women's Tennis Falls to Georgetown 7-0

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis team fell to Georgetown 7-0 on Saturday in BIG EAST Tennis action.

Freshmen Marie Gargiulo and Lucy Nutting won the No. 3 doubles' match 8-3 but the Huskies could not secure a point in the BIG EAST Conference match.

In No. 1 doubles, Jennifer Learmonth and Emily Herb fell to Wetmore and Tehrani 8-1, while Learmonth dropped her No. 1 singles' match 2-1. Herb fell in No. 2 singles 4-0 to Georgetown's Greco.

Alexa Gregory and Abby McKeon fell 8-1 in No. 2 doubles, while Gregory lost to Sekely 2-1 in singles' action. Lauren Wilmarth lost in No. 4 singles, while McKeon dropped a 2-1 match in No. 5. Nutting lost her close battle 3-2 to Georgetown's Landers.

UConn will return to action as the Huskies travel to Providence, R.I. to take on the Friars on Wednesday afternoon. The match is set to start at 3:00 p.m. on March 30.
