SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The UConn women's tennis team fell to Cincinnati 4-0 on Friday at the BIG EAST Tennis Championships to conclude its 2011 spring season.
Jasmine Lee and Safiyya Ismail of Cincinnati defeated UConn's Alexa Gregory and Abby McKeon 8-5 before Lindsey Lonergan and Caitlin O'Gara downed Jennifer Learmonth and Emily Herb 8-1 to clinch the doubles' point for the Bearcats.
In singles' play, Lee defeated Herb 6-0, 6-1 to take the second point of the match, while UConn's Lauren Wilmarth fell to Ashleigh Witte in a pair of 6-1 sets in No. 4 singles' action.
To finish the afternoon, UConn freshman Lucy Nutting was edged by Cincinnati's O'Gara 6-3, 6-2 in No. 6 singles' play. All other matches did not finish.
