WEST POINT, N.Y. - Freshmen Julia Allen (Raleigh, N.C.) and Sarah Griffin (Cheshire, Conn.) were the only members of the University of Connecticut women's tennis team still in action on the final day of competition in the Eastern Invitational.
Allen and Griffin lost an 8-6 decision to Alyssa Liantonia and Jennifer Yonkus of St. John's in the quarterfinals of the Effort Doubles bracket. Liantonia and Yonkus lost in the semifinals to Army's Michael Tollerton and Robie Verano who went on to win the bracket.
Women's tennis continues the fall season when the team hosts Bryant on Thursday at 3 p.m.
