STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis team will open up the spring portion of their schedule this weekend welcoming Bryant, Buffalo and Quinnipiac to the East Hartford Tennis Club for two days of matches.
The teams will each meet each other using a 4:1 format, with four singles matches and one doubles match being contested. On Saturday, January 30th, the Huskies will open the event facing Bryant at 6:15 pm followed by Buffalo and Quinnipiac.
The schedule for Sunday, January 31st starts with Buffalo and Bryant meeting at 8:45 am. UConn follows against Quinnipiac at 11:00 am and Buffalo at 1:00 pm and the day concludes with Quinnipiac and Bryant at 3:00 pm.
The Huskies are looking to build on what was one of the most successful fall seasons in program history. UConn will start the spring 2-0 in dual matches thanks to wins over UMass and Quinnipiac. As a team, the Huskies posted a combined singles record of 75-34 during the fall tournament schedule.
Senior Srna Stosljevic (Novi Sad, Serbia) will lead the Huskies as she gets ready to begin her final spring semester on the court for UConn. Stosljevic posted a 10-5 mark in the fall playing in the top spot for the Huskies as she looks to post a 20-win season for the third-straight year. Junior Shea Flanagan (Overland Park, Kans.) had a break-out fall campaign with an 11-2 singles record while also posting a 10-5 mark in doubles play.
After this weekend, the Huskies will be on the road for the months of February and March for 12 dual matches.
