STORRS, Conn. - The Counseling Program for Intercollegiate Athletes would like to recognize Sarah Griffin as the 11th award winner for National Student Athlete Day! Sarah is a focused and determined student-athlete who any coach would be lucky to have on their team. As a member of the women's tennis team, Sarah has consistently led by example on and off the court. She is a passionate person who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals.
As a Marketing major, Sarah has been named to the Dean's List in the highly competitive School of Business three times. She has been a three-time member of the Big East All-Academic Team as well as a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll 7 times. In 2011 and 2012, she was also named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team, which is a prestigious award given to those tennis student-athletes with a grade point average of at least 3.5.
Throughout her four years at UConn, Sarah has competed in both singles and doubles. She has been a solid leader and she is someone who her teammates look up to and respect.
After graduation Sarah will begin her career and with her passion and dedication she will make a positive impact!
