STORRS, Conn. - UConn junior Srna Stosljevic (Novi Sad, Serbia) was named to the 2015 American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis All-Conference team announced by the league on Thursday. Stosljevic becomes the first Husky to garner all-conference accolades in The American.
"I am so proud of Srna for being awarded All-Conference honors," commented head coach Glenn Marshall. "She had an outstanding year, with a 39-15 record in both singles and doubles. Our schedule this past season was one of the toughest we have ever faced, and she was a dominant player at number one singles and doubles. Since she is only a junior, I am very excited for Srna to reach even greater heights next year."
Stosljevic is the first player in UConn women's tennis program history to collect all-conference honors. She led all Huskies this season with a 24-9 singles record playing at No. 1 all season. Over the past two seasons, Stosljevic has posted back-to-back 20 win seasons and has piled up a record of 44-21 in singles play. In dual matches, she posted a 16-6 mark on the year.
In doubles action, she finished the season with 15 wins and teamed with senior Maxene Weinberg (Marietta, Ga.) to lead the Huskies with a 14-7 record playing at No. 1.
She helped lead the Huskies to a 4-3 record against AAC teams this season including the program's first post season victory knocking off East Carolina in the opening round of the conference tournament.
