STORRS, Conn. - UConn senior Srna Stosljevic (Novi Saad, Serbia) was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference team announced by the league office on Thursday. It is the second-straight season earning all-conference accolades for Stosljevic.
"I am really excited that Srna was named to the AAC All-Conference team," stated head coach Glenn Marshall. "To be recognized for her outstanding year by the coaches in the conference is a great honor. Her accomplishments over the last four years have been so impressive and she will leave the program as the most decorated player in women's tennis history."
Stosljevic finished her senior season with a 20-14 singles record, the third-straight year that she piled up at least 20 victories all while playing in the No. 1 spot for the Huskies. She won 11 times playing at the top-spot in dual matches this season. In doubles play, she finished with 13 victories, 12 of which came playing with rookie Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph (Tampa, Fla.).
During the fall tournament schedule, she won the top-flight at the Army West Point Invitational with a 5-0 weekend and also teamed with Fitz-Randolph to win the “A” flight doubles title at the event. Heading into the ITA Regional Championship to close the fall season, Stosljevic became the first Husky to ever be seeded in the main singles draw at the annual event.
Stosljevic has played at No. 1 singles for the Huskies since midway through her freshman season and has compiled an 80-48 record while winning four singles tournament titles during her four-year career. In doubles play, Stosljevic has 59 career victories and picked-up her first tournament title during the fall of her senior season.
At The UConn Club's 63rd Annual Awards Ceremony last month, she was honored with the Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.
