2015 Fall Women's Tennis Schedule

– The UConn women’s tennis team announced their 2015 fall schedule featuring five tournaments and a pair of dual matches. The Huskies are set to open their third season of play in the American Athletic Conference this season.

The Huskies will kick-off their fall slate on the weekend of September 18th through 20th competing in a pair of tournaments. UConn will compete once again open their season staying in-state, playing in the Quinnipiac Invitational. The Huskies will also compete on their opening weekend in the Harvard Fall Classic in Cambridge.

UConn will once again head to West Point, N.Y. this fall to play in the Army Black Knight Invitational on the weekend of September 25th-27th. The Huskies will open the month of October with a pair of dual matches as they travel to UMass on October 1st and Quinnipiac on October 6th.

The fall schedule closes with a pair of tournaments starting the weekend of October 9th-11th as the Huskies take a trip down south to Winston-Salem, N.C. to play in the Wake Forest Invitational. The ITA Regional Championships will take place on October 22nd-25th at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.

Head Coach Glen Marshall will return his entire singles line-up to the courts this season led by senior Srna Stosljevic (Novi Sad, Serbia), an All-AAC honoree last season. She led all Huskies with a 24-9 singles record playing at No. 1 all season. She is enters her senior season coming off back-to-back 20-win seasons and has piled up 44 singles wins over the last two years.



Juniors Emma Alderman (Hingham, Mass.) and Shea Flanagan (Overland Park, Kans.) and a trio of sophomores in Yelyzaveta Pletnyeva (Vinnitsa, Ukraine), Summer Walker (Conyers, Ga.) and Zaina Zaki (West Chester, Pa.) return to the Husky line-up. Alderman and Flanagan both come off posting 22 singles wins last season. Walker won 20 singles matches and tied for the team lead with 16 doubles victories during her rookie season.

Pletnyeva joined the Husky line-up for the spring semester and ran off a 14-6 mark playing in the No. 3 slot. She also posted a 13-8 doubles record, going 11-7 when teamed with fellow rookie Walker. Zaki finished with 16 victories in singles play during her freshman season.

Coach Marshall will welcome in three new faces to the program for the 2015-16 season in freshmen Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph (Tampa, Fla.), Jacquelyn Lazaro (Largo, Fla.) and Gillian Perrotta (Scarsdale, N.Y.).
