KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- The Huskies concluded their performances at the Tennessee Sea Relays on Saturday afternoon. UConn had a successful trip down south and walked away with two titles, one in the hammer and one in the 800m showcase.
Freshman Lindsay Crevoiserat (Glastonbury, Conn.) notched another top-five performance with her fourth place finish in the 1,500m run after posting a time of 4:25.61
The Huskies dominated the 800m showcase with three runners competing and two taking the top two seats. All-American Brigitte Mania (Felmington, N.J.) captured the title with a time of 2:05.45 with senior All-American Heather Wilson (Homer, N.Y.) shortly following in second place crossing the finish line in 2:06.13. Ana Groff concluded the race seventh in 2:08.06 for a new personal best.
“This turned out to be a very positive meet as we continue to build toward championship season. Our training has been adjusted and will continue to be fine-tuned toward this end. We have some very positive efforts being displayed as we continue to progress through the season,” said Head Coach Bill Morgan.
In the 400m showcase, Celina Emerson (Newark, Del.) grabbed fifth place in 55.20.
Emerson, Mania and Groff were joined by Tiffany Daley in the 4x400m relay showcase where the squad finished third in 3:41.26 to break the UConn all-time mark for this event.
Senior Victoria Flowers (Providence, R.I.) finished third in the shot put showcase with an outdoor personal best toss of 15.56 meters.
The Huskies will continue the 2012 outdoor campaign on Saturday, April 21 at the Princeton Invite.
