PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- UConn's five-time All-American Victoria Flowers has had one of the most remarkable senior seasons in program history and continued to prove why on Thursday where she captured first place in the hammer throw and fourth place in the shot put at the prestigious Penn Relays.
The Providence, R.I. native registered a toss of 64.20m (210-7) at Franklin Field for the top spot in the hammer. She didn't slow down there as she posted a mark of 16.20m (53' 1 3/4") in the shot put for fourth place which broke her previous school record.
"Victoria continues to build on her successes this year. She has made adjustments, being in command of her event, and has really set the stage for this continued improvement approaching Championship season," stated head coach Bill Morgan. "Winning Penn Relays is such a great accomplishment as she is competing against 11 of the best throwers in the country. We're very proud of Victoria and her latest success."
