Creoiserat leads Huskies into Sunday's finals.

TAMPA, Fla. (May 5, 2012) – The University of Connecticut women’s track and field team showed great poise on Saturday at the 2012 Outdoor BIG EAST Championships with several qualifying for Sunday’s finals .
Victoria Flowers (Providence, R.I.) podiumed for the second time in BIG EAST Championship as she took third in the shot put with a UConn record breaking 16.81m toss.
Freshman Lindsay Crevoiserat (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished the prelims of the 1,500m run in 4:24.93 for second place to lead the Huskies into Sunday’s finals, while senior Meghan Cunningham (Simsbury, Conn.) also qualified for the finals in a time of 4:28.73.
In the 100m hurdles sophomore Madalayne Smith (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) reached Sunday’s finals after posting a time of 13.47 on Saturday. All-American Celina Emerson (Newark, Del.) qualified for the finals in the 400m dash with a time of 53.71.
Senior All-American Heather Wilson (Homer, N.Y.) was the leading Husky in the 800m run with a fifth place finish (2:07) in the preliminaries. Junior Ana Groff (Orlando, Fla.) also qualified for the 800m finals with a seventh place finish in 2:07.16.
The Huskies conclude the BIG EAST Championships on Sunday, May 6 with the track events starting at 11:10 a.m. and the field events starting at 10 a.m.
