HOUSTON - Emily Durgin highlighted a successful Day One for the UConn women's track and field team by setting a conference record in the 10,000m.
Durgin raced in second for the majority of the race until the final lap of the 10,000 run, beating UCF's Anne-Marie Blaney with a meet record time of 34:28.06.

In qualifying, the Huskies qualified in the 800m led by Susan Areno logging a time of 2:08.91. Alexis Panisse (2:09.67), Katie Foley (2:11.28) and Sydnee Over (2:10.99) joined Areno in qualifying for the finals.
In the 400m hurdles, Tia Strackman qualified for the finals with qualifying time of 1:01.40.
