JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Huskies concluded the First Round of the 2012 NCAA Championships at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. on Saturday evening and will send two athletes to the finals in Des Moines, Iowa from June 6-9.
All-American Victoria Flowers (Providence, R.I.) clinched a trip to the finals in the hammer throw with a hurl of 60.33m (197-11) on Saturday for a ninth place finish.
Connecticut had two underclassmen representing the Husky squad on the track as freshman Lindsay Crevoiserat (Glastonbury, Conn.) and sophomore Allison Lasnicki (Canastota, N.Y.) compete in the 5,000m run on Saturday night. Lasnicki led the duo crossing the finish line in 16:43.37 for 20th place and Crevoiserat placed 29th (16:54.01).
All-American Heather Wilson (Homer, N.Y.) awarded herself chance to add another All-America title to her name at the finals when she qualified for the 800m race with her seventh place finish on Friday in a time of 2:05.35.
Wilson will compete at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, while Flowers will compete on Thursday, June 7 at 3 p.m.
