Eugene, Ore. – UConn sophomore Divine Oladipo and junior Susan Aneno garnered All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship Thursday night a Hayward Stadium at the University of Oregon. The duo each earned a spot on the second team after placing 12th and 16th, respectively, in their respective events.
Oladipo placed 12th overall in the shot put after recording a distance of 16.55m (54-3¾). The London, United Kingdom native claims her first All-American honor with her performance to round out a record-setting sophomore campaign.
In the 800m race Aneno earned her first All-American distinction after crossing the finish line with a time of 2:06.58- good for 16th overall. Despite her All-American performance, Aneno did not qualify for the 800m final which features the top eight qualifiers and will be held on Saturday evening.
The NCAA Championship will continue through Saturday night with Oladipo competing in the discus on Saturday evening.
