STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women’s track and field team travels to the Music City this weekend for a two-day meet. The Huskies will take part in the Vanderbilt Invitational that will run from Friday, January 19- Saturday, Jan. 20.
The meet will feature more than 700 athletes from 22 universities- Alabama, Auburn, Belmont, UConn, Furman, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, Maryland, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, SMU, Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, Southern Mississippi, Tulane, UAB, Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky.
Friday will begin with field events at 5:00 p.m. (ET) followed by running events at 7:00 p.m. (ET). On Saturday, the invite will start with unseeded running events at 11:00 am (ET) with preliminary and finals kicking off at 1:00 p.m. (ET) and field events at 11:30 a.m. (ET).
The Huskies are coming off their season opener in the Nittany Lion Invitational where a handful runners turned in personal best performances. Additionally, UConn had several student-athletes record top-10 finishes in their respective events.
