STORRS, Conn.  – Senior Victoria Flowers (Providence, R.I.) earned her second consecutive BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week award as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Flowers led the Huskies to first place following two titles in the weight throw and shot put for the second straight week as the Huskies most recently won the Great Dane Classic.

Flowers took victories in weight throw and the shot put at the Great Dane Classic. The senior threw 20.52m in the weight throw and 16.20m in the put. Flowers currently ranks first in the league and sixth nationally in the weight throw. She ranks second in the league and 11th nationally in the shot put.

"With so many great athletes in the BIG EAST, it's certainly an honor for Victoria to be recognized a second straight week.  Her marks were impressive but she realizes from her performance that she is on the verge of something much bigger – to stay focussed on her technique and energy is the key," head coach Bill Morgan commented.  "She needs to hurt the ball and deliver it with authority."

The Huskies return to competition on Friday at Boston University’s Terrier Classic.
