STORRS, Conn. –
The University of Connecticut women’s track and field team travels to New York City to compete in the Dr. Sander Invitational at the NYC Armory.

The Huskies will compete on Friday, January 26 beginning with field evens 10 a.m. and running events  at 10:15 a.m. The meet will be streamed through USATF.TV / RunnerSpace +Plus, and the Armory website will also have a live results link active once the meet begins.

The Huskies will compete head-to-head against BYU, Columbia, Connecticut, Duke, Georgetown, Missouri, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn, St. John’s, South Carolina, UCLA, Villanova, and Wisconsin.

Connecticut is coming off the highly competitive Vanderbilt Invitational in which the team landed seven Top-10 finishers. Headlining the UConn runners was freshman Brianna O’Brien who continues to impress following a successful cross country campaign. Last weekend, the distance runner claimed the bronze medal in the 5,000m race with a time of 17:02.80.

In her first meet of the season, thrower Divine Oladipo wrapped-up a sixth place finish with a throw of 15.74m (51’ 8”) in the shot put while teammate Amaris Blount’s throw of 18.25m (59’ 10 ¾) in the weight throw placed tenth overall.
