STORRS, Conn. –
Former University of Connecticut women’s track and field standout Emily Durgin has been selected to compete in the NACA Cross Country Championship held in the city of San Salvador on February 17.

The women’s 10,000k kicks off at 11:00 am (ET), Saturday morning. Durgin is one of 36 competitors and one of six Americans who will contend for the title.

At the 2018 USATF Cross Country Championships last week, Durgin claimed fifth in the Women’s 10k with a time of 33:56.9. Her performance earned her a spot in the NACA Cross Country Championship, where she will look to capture the 10k title as a member of team USA.

While at UConn, the Standish, Maine native was a nine-time American Athletic Conference Champion.  In 2017, she was the Penn Relays 10,000m champion. After graduating from UConn in May 2017, Emily joined Team New Balance Boston to continue her running career.
