STORRS, Conn.- The UConn women’s track and field team returns to Boston this weekend looking to capture its second championship title in as many weeks as the squad heads to the ECAC Championships. Saturday’s events are slated to begin at 10 a.m., while Sunday’s events will start at 9:30 a.m.

The Huskies captured their eighth consecutive New England Championships last weekend after posting nine first place finishes, including senior Victoria Flowers winning her fourth regional title in the weight throw with a meet record toss of 21.19 meters. On the opening day, the Huskies set two meet records as Ana Groff set a meet record in the 500 prelim in 1:13.31 to join Flowers.

In the final day of competition, the Huskies swept the podium in the high jump with Jasmine Cribb taking first in the event and Ilva Bikanova and Natasha Mclaren tying for second. Meanwhile, Flowers tallied another crown with a first place finish in the shot put, while the UConn 4x400 meter relay team (Brianna Allen, Nyanka Joseph, Tiffany Daley and Celina Emerson) captured first. Other Huskies to reach the top of the podium at the New England Championships included Katherine Vodopia, Groff, Emerson and Madalayne Smith.
