    REVISED: UConn All-Region Schedule

    STORRS, Conn.- After having a tremendous opening to the season last week, the UConn women's track and field team will host the UConn All-Region meet on Saturday, April 7 starting at noon at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. Connecticut will recognize six Husky seniors on Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m.

    The Huskies are coming back from the Raleigh Relays with three first place finishes, as well as earning two top-five performances at the UConn Spring Invite.

    Junior All-American Brigitte Mania led the way for UConn on the track. In the 800m, Mania placed first with a time of 2:04.86. The first place finish is currently first in the nation. Finishing close behind was fellow All-American Heather Wilson, who completed the race in 2:05.81, claiming third. For her first place finish, as well as her second place effort in the 1,500m (4:22.72), Mania was named BIG EAST Track and Field Athlete of the Week.           

    Back in Storrs, Conn. the Huskies performed well, claiming two top-five finishes. Senior Danika Ham captured the third spot in the javelin with a throw of 38.87m, while senior Shelby Donahue placed fifth in the 1,500m (4:42.18).

    The Huskies will conclude their 2012 home schedule this Saturday starting at noon with senior recognitions beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Meghan Cunningham, Courtney Dinnan, Shelby Donahue, Danika Ham, Christine Vogel and Heather Wilson will all be honored on Saturday morning.
