Women’s Track and Field student-athlete Jasmine Cribb is someone who has contributed academically, athletically and service wise to UConn.
Academically, Jasmine is a Sport and Motivational Psychology major. She was named to the Dean’s List in the fall 2011 and fall 2012 semesters. Jasmine was also a member of the Big East All-Academic Team in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. Currently, she is working on her Thesis: How to Deal: Exploring the Mechanisms of Coping in Collegiate student-athletes. After graduation, she hopes to attend graduate school and eventually receive her Ph. D.
Athletically, Jasmine is just as successful. During the past 3 ½ years, Jasmine has been a Big East Championships and NCAA Regional Championships qualifier in the high jump in both the indoor and outdoor track season.
Outside of the classroom and off the track Jasmine has still found time to dedicate herself to serving others. She is currently the Vice-President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) where she helps lead various community-based volunteer service events like Swim with Mike, a Holiday Toy Drive, and the Annual Student-Athlete Talent Show. She helped create the Husky Cup Competition, which serves as a competition to help motivate athletic teams to participate in community service activities. Jasmine also takes part in Husky Reach which is a community service program. As a member of Husky Reach, Jasmine participates in readings and activities at various elementary schools, accompanies children on university visits, mentors 5th and 6th grade girls, and participates in community clean ups and park beautification.
Congratulations to Jasmine as she finishes her accomplished academic and athletic career!
