    Hart Captures Second in Hammer Throw at USA Track and Field Championships

     

    CARSON, Calif. (June 25) – Former University of Connecticut women's track and field standout Bethany Hart captured second in the hammer throw at the 2005 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

    Hart finished second with a mark of 69.15m (226-10). At UConn, she was a two-time All-American in the hammer throw and was a 2000 Olympic Trials participant. Hart also won BIG EAST and New England Championships in the hammer in 1999 and 2000 and was an ECAC Champion in 2000. Her hammer throw record at UConn still stands as Hart set the program’s top mark in 2000 with a throw of 63.09m (207-00).
