SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The University of Connecticut volleyball team fell to Missouri State, the host team of the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational, 3-0 on Friday night. The Huskies record now stands at 5-4 as the Bears improved to 4-5.
UConn fell in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-12 and 25-23.
Sophomore outside hitter Devon Maugle (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) led the way for the Husky attack with 12 kills to go with nine digs.
Despite not getting a single player in double digits, Missouri State hit .238 collectively. Olivia Brand and Amber Doolittle recorded nine kills, apiece.
Senior libero Kelsey Maving (Tonowanda, N.Y.) led all players with 22 digs, while the Bears' Ashley Mason had 21.
Carly Thomas dished out 36 assists for MSU and posted a double-double with 15 digs. Freshman Marissa Prinzbach (Cincinnati, Ohio) and senior Angela Roidt (McFarland, Wis.) each reached double figures in assists for UConn with 14 and 10, respectively.
Connecticut is back in action tomorrow with matches against Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Illinois.
