Final Stats

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The University of Connecticut volleyball team was swept in BIG EAST action, 3-0, at Rutgers, Saturday afternoon.  With the loss, the Huskies fell to 14-14 overall and 4-9 in league play, while the Scarlet Knights improved to 9-21 and 2-11.

Each set was close, with UConn posting scores of 21, 20, and 21.

Senior Hannah Curtis and junior Alex Jones tied with a match-high 10 kills for Rutgers.  Senior Jordan Kirk (Plano, Texas) tallied a team-high eight kills, while junior Mattison Quayle (Los Angeles, Calif.) netted seven kills and picked up eight digs.

Junior libero Kelsey Maving (Tonawanda, N.Y.) totaled a match-best 20 digs, while RU had three players in double figures, led by sophomore Brittany Bozzini’s 15.

Junior setter Stephanie Zielinski dished out a match-leading 40 assists for the Scarlet Knights and junior Angela Roidt (McFarland, Wis.) had 23 for UConn.

The Huskies are back in action tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 pm for their regular season finale at Seton Hall.
