Huskies Volleyball Falls in Three Sets to Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The University of Connecticut volleyball team lost 3-0 to Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon at the Fifth Third Arena. Junior Rebecca Murray (Carmel, Ind.) missed a double-double while leading the team with 10 digs against the Bearcats. She was second on the team with eight kills while sophomore Jordan Kirk (Plano, Texas) led the way with nine.

Cincinnati's Stephanie Niemer led all with 13 kills, recording a double-double with 11 digs. Missy Harpenau was one of two Bearcats to finish the match with nine kills while Harpenau tallied 13 digs for a double-double.

Sophomore Samantha Arriaran (Norco, Calif.) contributed five kills with a .400 hitting-percentage, recording 28 assists in the match.

The Huskies fell in the first set 25-19 and tried to tie things up in the second. UConn lost it 25-22, trailing 2-0 in the match entering the third set. Cincinnati (21-9, 11-2) put the match away with a 25-16 decision in the final.

UConn (14-15, 7-6) takes on Louisville on Sunday at 2 p.m. in its regular season BIG EAST finale.

Game Notes
• This is the first time in 19 matches that Jessica Isaac did not record double figures in digs as she finished Saturday's match with nine.
• The last time no member of the Connecticut volleyball team recorded double figures in kills was against Pittsburgh on Nov. 1.
Rebecca Murray was responsible for two of the three solo blocks recorded by the Huskies as she led the team with three total.
