Connecticut (2-1) enjoyed a successful first weekend of play, finishing second at the annual UConn Classic. Immanuella Anagu (Culver City, Calif.) also showed up big in UConn's first weekend, notching 24 total blocks and 29 kills en route to being named the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

Brianna Datti (Durham, N.C.) surpassed the 900 career dig mark against Central Connecticut and now stands just 56 digs away from the Huskies' all-time top-10 leaders. The senior libero set a new single-game career high when she scooped 35 digs against the Blue Devils last Saturday.

Friday's match against the Rockets will be the first time the two programs have met on the court. When the Huskies square off against the Owls on Saturday at 10 a.m., it will mark the second-ever meeting between the teams, after Rice swept UConn in 1986. The Huskies and Wolfpack have a history that dates back to 1999 and includes two UConn victories.
