    STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut volleyball team heads to the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational, hosted by Missouri State in Springfield, Mo., for four matches this weekend.  The Huskies first match of the invite is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET on Friday against New Orleans, followed by an 8:30 pm contest against the host Bears.

    The action continues on Saturday as UConn takes on Nebraska-Omaha at 11:00 am and Northern Illinois at 3:30 pm.

    About the Huskies... Connecticut enters the weekend at 4-3 after a 3-1 win at Hartford on Tuesday night.  The Huskies have hit just .140 as a team through seven matches, but are led by sophomore outside hitter Devon Maugle.  Maugle has hit .247 with 61 kills (3.81 k/s), while senior outside hitter Mattison Quayle leads the team with 69 kills (3.00 k/s).  Freshman setter Marissa Prinzbach has settled in to the Husky offense averaging 9.19 assists per set and reach the 50-assist mark for the first time in her career at Hartford on Tuesday.

    UConn Classic... The Huskies finished 2-1 at their home tournament last weekend.  Connecticut posted 3-0 wins over Dartmouth and Fairfield, leading to a match-up of 2-0 teams in the finale against Michigan State on Saturday night.  The Spartans earned a 3-0 win as all six matches on the weekend ended in straight sets.  Maugle totaled 36 kills and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team along with senior libero Kelsey Maving, who posted 53 digs.


     

     

    Climbing the Ladder... Maving picked up 25 digs in the win over Hartford and moved into fourth place all time in the Connecticut record book with 1,416 in her career; passing Jen Halusek, Jamie Hadenfelt and Erika Hanson.  Jessica Issac holds the Husky record for career digs with 2,064.
