Volleyball Falls To Albany, 3-0



    ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 8) - The University of Connecticut volleyball team fell at Albany, 3-0 (26-30, 18-30, 21-30) on Tuesday evening. The Huskies are now 10-10 overall on the season after their final non-conference match of the season.

    Sophomore Brittany Stewart (Dolton, Ill.) and senior Megan Crawley (Georgetown, Texas) led the way for UConn offensively. Each had nine kills in the match. Crawley also picked up five digs and one block while Stewart had four digs.

    Freshman Sarah Singer (Waukesha, Wisc.) had seven kills and seven digs in the loss for UConn while senior Jenny Neelands (Gainesville, Fla.) and sophomore Sade Chambers (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) each had four kills.

    Ashley Hunter led Albany with 10 kills. Ashlee Reed and Shelby Goldman each had nine kills to help pace Albany to the win.

    UConn is next in action on Saturday, Oct. 22, when they will host Syracuse in Gampel Pavilion. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
