STORRS, Conn. - For the second time this season, University of Connecticut volleyball junior Rebecca Murray (Carmel, Ind.) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday. This is the second time this season that Murray has received a spot on the honor roll.
Murray recorded her fifth and sixth consecutive double-digit kill totals at Fairfield (Oct. 21) and at St. John's (Oct. 25), leading the team with a 2.40 kill per set average. She recorded her the second double-double of the year with 14 kills and 11 digs against the Stags and narrowly missed out on her third with a 10 kill and nine dig performance on Saturday.
The middle blocker has led the team in kills in three of the last four matches while leading the team in service aces (four) and blocks (seven) last week. She is averaging a team-best 2.55 kills per set with a .206 hitting-percentage. Murray leads the team in total blocks (81) and service aces (29).
UConn (12-12, 5-3) hits the hardwood at Harry A. Gampel for the final time this regular season with matches against West Virginia on Saturday at 7 p.m. and versus Pittsburgh on Sunday at 2 p.m.
