UConn Closes 2015 Season Against ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The University of Connecticut volleyball team will conclude the 2015 season on the road against East Carolina on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. It will be the final American Athletic Conference outing for the Huskies.

UConn (16-14, 10-9 The American) is coming off a pair of losses last weekend in its final homestand of the 2015 campaign. The Huskies fell in three-sets to conference leader SMU on Friday behind 10 kills from junior Jade Strawberry (Tallahassee, Fla.). On Sunday, the home squad dropped a 3-1 decision to Tulsa as sophomore Kenya Cason (Columbus, Ohio) paced the team with 11 kills and 13 digs.

Connecticut is 2-1 in the all-time series against ECU (11-18, 4-14 The American) since the Pirates’ inaugural season in The American in 2014. When the Pirates visited Storrs in October, the Huskies came away with a five-set thriller. Strawberry led the team with a career-high 24 kills along with 14 digs for while Cason followed up with a double-double of her own (16 digs, 15 kills). Senior captain Erika Thomas (Ocoee, Fla.) registered 11 kills and junior Rebecca Rivera (Mississauga, Ontario) tallied 38 assists.

On the national scale, Anagu checks in at No. 132 in the country and fifth in the conference with 1.07 blocks/set. She also ranks 124th nationally and fifth in the league with 115 total blocks this season.



The Huskies have won nine of its last 12 games and has been victorious in 29 of the last 47 sets.
