Crevoiserat leads the Huskies at the Griak Invite on Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The University of Connecticut women’s cross country squad posted a fourth place finish on Saturday afternoon at the University of Minnesota’s Griak Invitational. The Huskies finished with 88 points, just two points behind third place Minnesota, while nationally ranked Iowa State and Weber State claimed the top two seats.
Sophomore Lindsay Crevoiserat ran in her first race of the 2012 campaign and led the Huskies with a sixth place finish in a time of 21:23 and teammate Allison Lasnicki was right behind her notching a seventh place finish in 21:29. The Huskies, recording three top-15 finishes in the pool of 211 runners, saw one of their most consistent leaders Lauren Sara grab 12th place in 21:43.
Freshman Julia Zrinyi made her collegiate debut at the Griak on Saturday and registered a top-30 performance as she concluded the meet in 29th after crossing the finish line in 22:13. She was followed by senior Shauna McNiff who finished 34th in a time of 22:20.
Connecticut returns to competition on Sunday, October 7 at the New England Championships in Westfield, Massachusetts.
