Women's Cross Country Led By Emily Durgin at New England Championships

WESTFIELD, Mass.- UConn women’s cross country posted a 19th place finish on Sunday afternoon at the New England Championships which were held at Stanley Park. Boston College took home this year’s title with 45 points, while the Huskies tallied 531 points in the 5K.

Leading UConn on Sunday was freshman Emily Durgin who was the lone Husky crossing the finish line in the top-25 with a time of 18:00.26 for 25th place out of 251 runners.

The next Husky to cross the line was freshman Laura Williamson in 70th with a time of 18:38.27, while sophomore Terra Briody concluded the afternoon in 117th with a mark of 19:07.44.  

Rounding out the scoring for the Huskies were freshman Katherine Vodopia and Emily Lewson who ended the race in 135th (19:20.86) and 184th (20:03.88).

The Huskies will return to running on Friday, October 12 at the Wisconsin Invitational in Madison. The race begins at 11 a.m.
