STORRS, Conn. -The University of Connecticut women's cross country team participated in the 5th annual Adidas Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Madison, Wisc. The invitational, one of the nation's premier college meets, featured 37 highly competitive programs. Arizona placed first in the 6k race with 117 points. UConn finished in 35th place as a team.
Brigitte Mania (Flemington, N.J.) led all Connecticut runners with a time of 21:03, which was good for 92nd place of all runners. Emily Durgin (Portland, Maine) finished just behind Mania with a time of 21:23. Abby Mace(Maranacook, Maine) rounded out the top three of the Huskies with a time of 21:46.
UConn will practice for the next two weeks before returning to competition. The team will look to tune up before league championships begin in American Athletic Conference action on November 2nd, hosted here in Connecticut at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT.
