position who has played in 66 games, starting 64... Has led the team in assists
in each of his two seasons as a Husky... Averaging 8.7 points in his career (571
points) and has 329 career assists, 5.0 per game... His 329 assists are No. 10
all-time at UConn... The only player in UConn history to record double-figure
assists in consecutive BIG EAST Regular Season games, a feat he has accomplished
two times.
As a Sophomore in 2001-2002: Started 32 of 34
games at the point guard spot... Averaged 9.2 points and 5.1 assists per
contest... His 172 assists led the team and are the second highest total ever
for a UConn sophomore... Had three double-figure assist efforts, handing out 12
vs. West Virginia (matching his career-high), 10 at Georgetown and 11 in the
season opener vs. Vanderbilt... Reached double figures in scoring 15 times on
the season, with a season-high 21 at Arizona, also tying his
career-high...Nailed a 30-foot three-pointer with 34.8 seconds remaining to send
UConn to a 74-65 double-overtime victory over Pittsburgh and the program’s fifth
BIG EAST Tournament Championship... Had 12 points and a pair of three-pointers
in Final Eight loss to eventual national champion Maryland... Received the
annual Assist Leader Award at the team banquet.
As a Freshman in 2000-2001: Started all 32 games at
the point guard position... Averaged 8.1 points per game and had a team-leading
157 assists (4.9/game)... His 157 assists were the second most ever by a UConn
freshman... No. 2 on the squad with 52 steals... Scored in double figures 11
times... Had 13 points and eight assists in BIG EAST Tournament contest vs.
Syracuse... Scored a career-high 21 points in win over nationally-ranked Boston
College on February 13... Had a career-best 12 assists in overtime win over St.
John’s on January 6... Followed that performance with a ten point-ten assist
double-double against Pittsburgh on January 10... Third UConn player to record
double figure assists in back-to-back games and the first in BIG EAST Regular
