2007 SEASON: Started 23 of the 24 games he appeared
in... had 17 hits, six runs batted in, 10 runs, and a batting average of .210...
registered three doubles on the season... went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in
and two runs scored against NYIT (Mar. 22)... also appeared in nine games on the
hill starting four of those contests... hurled 27.1 innings compiling 16
strikeouts, a 1-0 record, and a 5.93 ERA . . . struck out a season-high five
batters while allowing only one hit in three innings of work in a start against
Hartford (Apr. 17).
2006 SEASON: Started in 27 of the 28 games on which he
appeared … finished sixth on the team with a .327 batting average … ended the
season with six doubles, two triples, two home runs and 22 RBI … was third on
the club with a .490 slugging percentage … recorded his first collegiate hit and
run scored in UConn’s 6-0 win over Iona (Mar. 5) … was 2-for-4 with two RBI in
Huskies’ 17-0 shutout of Mt. St. Mary’s (Mar. 6) … went 2-for-3 with three runs
scored and three RBI in a 20-1 win at Sacred Heart (Mar. 15) … went 3-for-5 with
three RBI and belted his first career home run in a 7-6 win at South Florida
(Mar. 18) … had a season-high four hits in a 4-for-4 showing with two runs
scored and two RBI in an 8-5 win over Yale (Mar. 29) … recorded a season-high
four RBI in a 7-1 win over Massachusetts … also made six appearances on the hill
for the Huskies … was tied for the team lead with three saves … finished the
season with a 5.19 earned run average … struck out a season-high three batters
en route to his first career save in UConn’s 5-4 win over Eastern Kentucky (Mar.
11).
