As a Freshman in 2006-07: Appeared in all 31 games for the Huskies, starting in 13 at forward... Averaged 5.1 points and 4.4 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per contest... Reached double-figures three times, leading the team for the first time against Indiana with 21 points... Had eight points and two assists aganst Georgia Tech... Tallied a team-leading 13 boards to go with nine points against Providence... Had 21 points and nine boards vs. Hoosiers... Had first career double-double with 13 points and 12 boards in win over St. John’s... Had eight points and two rebounds against Louisiana State... Had eight points and nine boards against Pepperdine... Tallied eight points and nine rebounds in win over Texas Southern... Had eight points, five rebounds and two blocks against Sacred Heart... Tallied seven points and four rebounds in win over Mississippi ... Tallied 13 points and picked up six boards in 15 minutes against Central Arkansas.

Before UConn: Averaged 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds as a member of the United States Men’s U18 National Team that won the gold medal in the 2006 FIBA Americas U18 Championship for Men from June 28-July 2 in San Antonio ... Member of the 2005 USA Basketball Youth Development Festival Red Team that finished 3-2 and won the bronze medal... As a senior, he helped lead Huffman High School (Ala.) in 2005-06 to a 29-7 record and state Class 6A runner-up finish. He averaged 16.8 points and was named Mr. Basketball in Birmingham... Started all 136 games played, compiling 2,044 points, 944 rebounds, over 500 assists, 250 steals and 300 blocked shots... He shot 60 percent from the field, 32 percent from 3-point range and 82 percent from the line during his prep career...As a junior in 2004-05, averaged 19.9 ppg., 9.3 rpg., 6.1 apg. and 3.0 bpg... Led team to a 27-7 record and the Alabama Class 6A State Tournament Final Four...As a sophomore in 2003-04, averaged 16.5 ppg., 10.0 rpg., 5.2 apg. and 2.4 bpg. Helped lead team to a 22-10 record and state tournament regionals...Attended Woodlawn High School (Ala.) as a freshman and aided his squad to a 17-17 record and the regional finals... He averaged 13.5 ppg., 8.0 rpg., 3.0 apg. and 3.0 bpg...Named as a junior in 2005-06 Parade Magazine second team, EA Sports All-America second team, ASWA Mr. Basketball, ASWA Class 6A Player of the Year, ASWA Super Five, ASWA All-State Class 6A first team...Was a finalist for the 2005 Alabama Mr. Basketball and Alabama Class 6A Player of the Year...Named 2005 All-State first team and All-Metro...Earned MVP honors at the 2005 area and regional tournaments.
