As a Freshman in 2006-07: Named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team... Starting center for all 31 games with 6.2 points and 6.4 rebounds, along with 118 blocks in 24.5 minutes per game... Led the BIG EAST in blocked shots and finished No. 3 in the nation in blocks... Led team in blocks on 23 occasions, putting up two or more in 25 contests ... Had seven points and a career-high eight offensive boards against Villanova... Tallied seven rebounds and five blocks against Louisville... Had eight points, five rebounds and four blocks in win at Rutgers... Notched double-digits for second time in conference play with 11 points at Syracuse... Tallied nine points, seven blocks and six rebounds in win over Seton Hall... Notched seven rebounds and seven blocks against Georgia Tech... Tallied 11 rebounds, eight points and five blocks in overtime win against Rutgers... Posted a near triple-double with 12 points, 10 boards and seven blocks in win over St. John’s... Had first career double-double against Coppin State, tallying 11 points and 12 rebounds... Scored a career-high 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting against Pepperdine in just 16 minutes of action... Tallied nine points and six rebounds against St. Mary’s (CA)... Had six boards, three blocks and three points in win over Northeastern... Put up a school record-tying ten blocks in win over Texas Southern to go with seven points and four rebounds... Had eight points and six rebounds against Sacred Heart... Had 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in win over Albany... Named to Hispanic College Fund Classic all-tournament team after grabbing nine boards and putting up three blocks in finale against Mississippi... Totaled 12 points and nine blocks in 31 minutes against Fairfield... Tallied five points, six rebounds and four blocks vs. Central Arkansas... Posted 11 rebounds and seven blocks to go with five points and an assist against Quinnipiac.

 

Before UConn: As a senior in 2005-06 at Cypress Christian School in Houston, Texas, he averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game… He was a Second Team All-City Selection... Competed in the 2006 Global Games in Dallas from June 19-24, 2006 as a member of the African team, helping the team to a fifth place finish by averaging 7.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocked shots... Had 14 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in a win over Puerto Rico on June 22 and had ten points, nine boards and six blocks in a loss to the United States on June 21.
