A fifth-year
senior who has battled several injuries to compete for a place in the
wide receiver rotation.
2007:
Saw action in each of the final nine games of the year as a reserve wide
receiver … Had four catches for 23 yards … Caught two passes for 16
yards in the Meineke Car Care Bowl against Wake Forest (Dec. 29) … Made
a three-yard grab against Syracuse (Nov. 17) and a four-yard catch at
Cincinnati (Nov. 10) … While rehabbing an injury, was named the
Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week prior to the Duke game (Sept. 1)
… Spent the winter competing with the UConn track and field team and was
the BIG EAST High Jump Champion, clearing 7-1.
2006:
Missed the entire season while recovering from a knee injury.
2005:
Hurt his knee during the season opener against Buffalo (Sept. 1) and
missed the remainder of the season … Had one six-yard catch prior to the
injury … Competed with the UConn indoor track and field team during the
winter and won the BIG EAST high jump championship, clearing 7-0.25.
2004:
Redshirted … Named the Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week prior to
the Murray State game (Sept. 4) … Competed with the UConn track and
field team during the spring and was an NCAA Regional qualifier in the
high jump, clearing a season-high of 6-11.
High School:
An All-District selection who was also named All-Big Bend by the
Tallahassee Democrat … Caught 48 passes for 700 yards and three
touchdowns as a senior when he was an All-Conference selection … The
biggest of his 48 catches in 2003 was on a 44-yard “Hail Mary” pass to
give Godby a last second win over regional No. 1-seed Milton in the
opening round of the state playoffs … Team captain as a senior … Placed
second in the state for 2A in both the high jump and the long jump, for
the Godby track and field team … Also helped Godby to a state-wide third
place finish in the spring of 2004 in the 4x400 meter relay.
