Power Play Goals Hurt Men's Hockey As They Fall 6-1 To Sacred Heart

MILFORD, Conn. (January 6, 2009) - Four power play goals and a three-goal second period by Sacred Heart squashed the University of Connecticut men’s hockey team’s chances of a victory as the Pioneers (5-12-5, 5-7-2 Atlantic Hockey) went on to defeat the Huskies (4-14-1, 3-7-1 Atlantic Hockey) 6-1 for the second time this season and eight of the last nine games that they have met.

Men’s Hockey Falls Just Short To No. 11 Air Force 4-3

STORRS, Conn. (January 3, 2009) - After jumping out to a 3-1 lead, the University of Connecticut men’s ice hockey team allowed three unanswered goals and No. 11 Air Force earned a hard fought 4-3 victory at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum on Saturday night. Jacques Lamoureux scored the winning goal for the Falcons (15-3-1, 12-1-1 Atlantic Hockey).

Erickson Named Candidate For Lowe's Senior CLASS Award

KANSAS City, Mo. (December 31, 2008) - Senior captain Sean Erickson has been named as a candidate for the Lowe's Hockey Senior CLASS Award. The award is presented annually to an NCAA Division I student-athlete in nine sports based on achievements in the “Four C’s” of classroom, character, community and competition. CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.
