WILL THORNTON

AT CONNECTICUT: Solid and steady performer  in the backfield... Has started in every game he has appeared (45).  AS A SOPHOMORE:  Was a presence in the back that recorded a school-record 15 shutouts and gave up just 13 goals. AS A FRESHMAN: Named to the 1999 BIG EAST All-Rookie squad... Started and played in 23 games... Missed a start versus Pittsburgh due to soreness in upper thigh... Had one assist on the season versus Providence helping teammate Luis Arauz to a hat trick.  IN HIGH SCHOOL: Played three years at the  Christian School of York under head coach Gary Boettcher where he was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection before transferring to West York Area HS under head coach Todd Lamparter... Named Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference... An Eastern Pennsylvania All-State selection... A member of the U-18 U.S. National Team and plays on the Region I ODP team... His club team, F.C. Delco Dynamo won the U-17 National Championship under coach John Hingley. PERSONAL: Enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences... Psychology major... Born January 27, 1981.
