Ashley Battle

AT CONNECTICUT: Has played in 44 career contests and made first collegiate start versus Boston College on 1/26/02... Injured her right elbow in her rookie season and earned a medical hardship regaining first year eligibility... Averaging 5.3 career points per game.

2001-02: Reserve forward who played in all 39 games... Averaged 5.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg and 16.7 mpg... Scored in double-figures on eight occasions, including a career-high 15 points versus Villanova (1/19)... Pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds in 17 minutes of play versus Rhode Island (11/24) and matched the effort with 13 boards versus Miami (1/12)... Came off the bench to contribute 18 points (6.0 ppg) and 20 rebounds (6.7 rpg) during BIG EAST tournament play.

2000-01: Saw action in the first five games of the season before being sidelined with an elbow injury... Applied for a medical hardship for the 2000-01 season.

HIGH SCHOOL: WBCA All-America team member from the Linsly School in West Virginia... Garnered Parade All-America Fourth Team honors... Named West Virginia Player of the Year... Ohio Valley Girls Basketball Association Class A Player of the Year for four straight years... Gatorade Circle of Champions Player of the year for her home state... Selected as the All-State team captain... Also captained the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference First Team... Three-time First Team All-State honoree... Rewrote the school record books by setting marks for most points (1,532), rebounds (823) assists (385) and steals (371).
